1. Booth Preparation and Use:

a. Ability to prepare the manual booth, pumps, and paint hoppers for powder coating of product.

b. Ability to prepare the automatic booth, pumps, and paint hoppers for powder coating of product.

2. Gun Preparation and Use:

a. Ability to prepare and set the paint gun to the correct KVS settings for each paint type to maintain proper paint flow, achieve proper mil coverage as determined by working standards, and to minimize paint waste from improper settings.

3. Paint Selection and Use:

a. Ability to determine proper paint usage through comparison to work standards and product identification.

b. Ability to properly identify and store the paint when not in use.

c. Ability to weigh paint after use to record for proper inventory control practices and update the existing product tags.

4. Paint Application:

a. Ability to coat a variety of surfaces (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.) while maintaining proper adhesion and mil thickness.

b. Ability to consistently maintain a proper spray distance for proper coverage and minimizing paint waste.

c. Ability to adjust gun settings to compensate for paint anomalies such as faraday, air pressure variances, or anything else that may affect coverage.

d. Ability to properly set automatic gun settings in the primer booth to facilitate proper coverage and minimizing paint waste.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance:

a. Ability to properly disassemble (when required) and clean the booths, pumps, hoppers, guns, and hoses to eliminate cross-color contamination between color changes and for proper end-of-day cleaning.

b. Ability to disassemble and reassemble paint guns (manual or automatic) for proper cleaning, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of any minor issues.

c. Ability to maintain a clean work center (overall cleaning of the paint area) by removing trash, sweeping floors, disposing of waste powder, cleaning of walls, etc. as directed by the supervisor and/or any internally developed 5s standards.
